Susan Cox, HR and admin manager at forklift truck company Linde Castle Limited, has won a CIPD Learning and Development Practice training course worth £2,490, thanks to Development Processes Group (DPG) - and Spain winning the 2010 World Cup!
Participants booking a place on a CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development) programme with DPG were entered into a sweepstake with the lucky delegate assigned the winning team being awarded their programme for free.
Commenting on her win, Susan said: “I’ve never been a football fan so when I drew Spain in the sweepstake, I wasn’t aware quite how good they were. As they progressed in the World Cup, so did my interest in the ‘beautiful game’!
“I had never watched a World Cup final before, but we were all yelling at the screen on the big day – hoping Spain would win. It was a very tense game!” she said.

“Susan starts her eight-month course in October 2010 at one of our training venues in Leeds. The course will provide her with a formal qualification that will benchmark and recognise her 22 years’ experience in the company.”
